The Good Death won at Cinematik IFF in Slovakia! Cinematik.doc is a competition of Slovak documentary feature films that premiered during the period of one year before the festival. The Literary Fund Cinematik.doc Award, endowed by a financial bonus of €1,000, is awarded at the proposal of the international jury of the IFF Cinematik together with the Literary Fund for Best Director of a Slovak documentary film.
One of the Cinematik’s goals is to support Slovak cinematography. This is one of the reasons why the competition section of the Slovak documentary films Cinematik.doc was created. Cinematik festival is also a co-organiser of Dox In Vitro, an international seminar focused on documentary development and co-production in Europe.
Cinematik is an international film festival that takes place in Piešťany, Slovakia, and it’s one of the largest film events in this country. The festival was founded in 2006, and after its fast growth, over 16,000 visits were recorded during the festival’s 4th volume. Over 70 feature films and many short films with an emphasis on European and Slovak cinematography are screened every September.
